Little Meadow Creek is a small stream located in the southwestern part of North Carolina, United States, in the county of Cabarrus. The creek runs for approximately 11 miles and is a tributary of the Rocky River. It is known for being the site of the first documented discovery of gold in the United States in 1799, which sparked the gold rush in North Carolina. The gold mining activities in the area continued until the mid-20th century, and remnants of the mining operations can still be seen in the surrounding landscape. Today, Little Meadow Creek is primarily used for recreational purposes, such as fishing and hiking.
